SUBJECT: PURCHASE OF GATE AND FENCING FOR THE WASTEWATER
ADMINISTRATION BUILDING
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the purchase of gate and fencing for
the Wastewater Administration Building from Ware Fencing LLC for the
Public Works Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the Utility Enterprise Fund for a total amount not to
exceed $25,660.
BACKGROUND: This purchase is for the replacement of a section of perimeter fencing and
access gates for the east side of the new wastewater treatment plant
administration building. This section of fence is beyond repair and needed
to maintain adequate plant security adjacent to the previous Grace
building.
This purchase will be made in accordance with an existing interlocal
agreement with the Region VIII Education Service Center known as The
Interlocal Purchasing System (TIPS) in Texas as allowed by Texas Local
Government Code, Chapter 271 and Texas Government Code, Chapter
791. The contract was for an initial two-year period with three optional
one-year renewals.
Bids were taken by the cooperative and contracts were awarded to Ware
Fencing LLC. The Public Works and Purchasing staff reviewed the
contract for departmental specification compliance and pricing and
determined that the contract would provide the best product and pricing to
meet the needs of the City.
Staff recommends approval
