SUBJECT: PURCHASE OF LIBRARY AUTOMATIC SORTER FOR THE
GRAPEVINE PUBLIC LIBRARY
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider the approval for the purchase of a library
automatic sorter with Lyngsoe Systems for the Grapevine Public Library.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the Capital Projects Fund for an amount not to
exceed $46,300.
BACKGROUND: The Grapevine Public Library will utilize the library automatic sorter to
automatically check in, and sort materials returned to the library,
increasing efficiency and reducing the time it takes to make library
materials available to circulate to others.
This procurement will be made as a sole source in accordance with Local
Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter B, § 252.022. General
Exemptions (a)(7)(E). Lyngsoe Systems is the documented sole source
support services provider for the books, papers, and other library
materials for a public library that are available only from the persons
holding exclusive distribution rights to the materials.
Staff recommends approval.
