SUBJECT: PURCHASE OF REXA VALVE ACTUATOR AT WATER TREATMENT
PLANT
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the purchase of a Rexa valve
actuator at the Water Treatment Plant from Rexa Inc. for the Public Works
Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the Utility Enterprise Fund for a total amount not to
exceed $17,926.
BACKGROUND: This purchase is for a new Rexa valve actuator for the filter valves at the
Water Treatment Plant. The current actuator is starting to fail and must be
replaced. This is a sole source purchase directly from Rexa Inc.
These procurements will be made as a sole source in accordance with
Local Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter B, § 252.022. General
Exemptions (a)(7)(A). Rexa Inc. is the sole source provider for these types
of water products and parts.
