The City of Grapevine Parks & Recreation Advisory Board met May 18, 2017 at 6:00
p.m. in The REC of Grapevine Administration Conference Room, 1175 Municipal Way,
Grapevine, Texas with the following members present, to-wit:

The meeting was called to order at 6:04 p.m.
A moment of silence was observed.
Approval of Minutes
A motion was made by Larry Francis and seconded by Krystyna Plut to approve the
April 20, 2017 minutes. Motion passed 8-0.
Ayes — Ray Harris, Roy Robertson, Larry Francis, John Dalri, Terry Musar, Krystyna
Plut, Christian Ross and Dave Buhr.
Nays — None
Absent — Debra Tridico

New Business
Consider approval of a historical landmark plaque for Turner Elementary at Cluck Park.
A motion was made by Terry Musar and seconded by Larry Francis to approve the new
Cluck Park historical plaque. Motion passed 8-0.

Plut, Christian Ross and Dave Buhr.
Nays — None

Presentation
Scott Hardeman & John Dald gave a presentation over the inaugural Spring Pickleball
Classic tournament that was held on May 4 & 5 at Fieldhouse Grapevine with 162 total
participants, the largest ever in DFW.
PARD Informational Items (No Action Taken)
Athletics, Scott Hardeman reported on the following:
Tournament revenue, GBS Ail-Star tournaments, Main Street Fest tennis tournament,
Friends of GBSA and the Positive Coaching Alliance family clinic.
Capital Projects, Kevin Mitchell reported on the following:
The new Horticulturalist starts on June 12.
Lake Parks/Events, Chris Smith reported on the following:
Mom & Me Tea, Paddle Trail Launch and RISE Adaptive Sports at Meadowmere, chili
cook-off and the new deck at the Vineyards Campground.
Parks Maintenance, Chris Smith reported on the following:
Pecan Park Community Input meeting, irrigation at the library, Oak Grove soccer
playground and Main Street Fest assistance.
Recreation, Chris Smith reported on the following:
Goat yoga class, Active Adult chorus performance, outdoor pools opening Memorial
Day weekend and the UNT service quality study.
Volunteerism, Chris Smith reported on the following:
Grapevine Heroes 5K— volunteers needed.

GCISD Report — No report given.
GHS Report — Tatum Tellin reported on the following:
The end of the school year, track, women's golf, gymnastics, 7 national merits and
baseball in the playoffs.
Adiourn
Motion was made by Larry Francis and seconded by John Dalri to adjourn the meeting
at 6:39 p.m. Motion passed 8-0.
