GRAPEVINE SENIOR CITIZENS ADVISORY BOARD
January 4, 2002
Grapevine Senior Citizens Advisory Board met on January 4, 2002 at 2 P.M. at the
Grapevine Senior Activities Center.
The following members were present:
Dr. Edith Pewitt—Chair Dorothy Kritz
Miriam Bahner - Secretary Vivienne Douglas
Irving Bowling Doris Waite
Others present:
Linda Gregory
Clydene Johnson
Edith welcomed everyone to the meeting.
The minutes of the previous meeting were considered and approved.
There were no citizens requests so we went into a discussion of the Senior Fair .
tiov The Fair is tentatively set for July 13, 20, or 27a'to see if we can get the Lancaster
Theater free for one of those dates. It was decided that we would have a patriotic theme
with emphasis on Getting Involved With Your Community.
The following were suggestions for the entertainment:
Senior Center Chorus Sue Franks
Skit by Runway Theater Ron
Kids Who Care Rocky
Palace Theater presentation of what is going on at the Palace
Grapevine Opry
Suggested presentations by the following organizations were as follows:
Grace Senior Activities Center
Keep Grapevine Beautiful Library
Palace Theater
The entertainment and presentations would be limited to 10 minutes each.
Next month we will continue planning for the Fair for such things as door prizes,
food and the possibility of getting donations for these things.
It was suggested that we look into having a monthly mailing from the city to present the
things available for seniors. If this isn't feasible then perhaps a newsletter from the
Senior Center could be sent out each month. One drawback for this is being able to
having access to a complete list of seniors names and addresses.
The next meeting will be held on February 1, 2002 at the Grapevine Senior Activities
Center.
The meeting was adjourned at 3:10 P.M.
Respectfully submitted,
4. .
Miriam A. Bahner
Secretary
