HomeMy WebLinkAbout2001-01-26 Regular MeetingSTATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF TARRANT CITY OF GRAPEVINE The Board of Commissioners of the Grapevine Housing Authority met in Regular Session on this the 26th day of January, 2001 at 8:30 a.m. in the Planning and Zoning Conference Room at City Hall, with the following members present to -wit: Lloyd O. Latta, Jr. Vice -Chair Linda Robbins Financial Officer L.E. Holmes Commissioner Doris Waite Resident Commissioner Constituting a quorum, with the following also present: Debra Wells Matthew Boyle William A. Gaither Sharron Spencer Judy Bentley CALL TO ORDER Executive Director City Attorney Director of Administrative Services City Council Liaison GHA Staff Vice -Chairman Lloyd O. Latta, Jr. called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. INVOCATION Commissioner L.E. Homes delivered the Invocation. REPORT OF THE SECRETARY Item 1. Rent Delinquency and Information Sheet The Secretary reported to the Board on the rent delinquencies, the number of empty units, and number of person on the waiting list, ethnic breakdown of current head tenants and statical information on the Section 8 Program. Item 2. Progress report on office renovation The first step in the renovation of the office went well and we are waiting on green tag. Work will start on the inside after the building has settled for eight to ten weeks. Item 3. Schedule for electrical work The bid has been finalized with Mr. Electric and they are scheduled to start working on Starr Place the first week of March. Item 4. Progress Report on Security Fence along Northwest Highway No action was taken was taken on the fence. NEW BUSINESS Item 1. Discussion & consideration of amendment to the Dwelling Leases and take any necessary action No action was made on the dwelling lease. Item 2. Discussion & consideration of Utility Easement with the City of Grapevine and take any necessary action The utility line is part of a project the City is undertaking to secure water supply over the next 20 years. It is a major transmission line and involves laying a pipeline from Glade Road all the way across the City to the service center and needed an easement from the Housing Authority. Rev. Homes made a motion to grant the easement without compensation on the prescribed plan based on the goodwill and contributions the City has made toward the Housing Authority and authorizing the Executive Director to sign any and all required documents. Robbins seconded. Ayes: Latta, Robbins, Holmes and Waite Nays: None Absent: Nicastro Item 3. Consideration of Minutes for October 13, 2000 and November 30, 2000 meetings; and take any necessary action. Commissioner Robbins made a motion to accept the minutes of October 23 and Commissioner Holmes seconded. Ayes: Latta, Robbins, Holmes and Waite Nays: None Absent: Nicastro A question was brought up regarding the write-off of tenant 41 receivables; Matthew is going to check into this. Robbins made a motion to accept the minutes of November 30 and Holmes seconded. Ayes: Latta, Holmes, Robbins, Waite Nays: None Absent: Nicastro Adjournment Latta ask for a motion to adjourn. Holmes made a motion to adjourn. Robbins seconded.
