The City of Grapevine Parks & Recreation Advisory Board met July 20, 2017 at 6:00
p.m. in The REC of Grapevine Administration Conference Room, 1 175 Municipal Way,
Grapevine, Texas with the following members present, to-wit:

The meeting was called to order at 6:01 p.m.
A moment of silence was observed.
Approval of Minutes
A motion was made by Roy Robertson and seconded by Christian Ross to approve the
June 15, 2017 minutes. Motion passed 9-0
Ayes — Ray Harris, Roy Robertson, Mark Assaad, John Dalri, Debra Tridico, Christian
Ross, Terry Musar, Joe Luccioni and Dave Buhr.
Nays— None
Citizen Comments
Keith Hazelhorst wanted to thank the Parks and Recreation for the beautiful parks and
the work that is done at them to keep them beautiful. He brought up his increasing level
of concern about dogs off of leashes.

Presentation
Each of the Grapevine based youth associations gave the association reports to the
board as follows:

GBS-Baseball/Softball-Scott Hardeman
PARD Informational Items (No Action Taken)
Athletics, Scott Hardeman reported on the following:
Reported on Positive Coaching Alliance, registration for baseball/softball
Capital Projects, Kevin Mitchell reported on the following:
Turf at the Oak Grove Ballfield Complex, product is on site, installation will begin soon.
LED lights will be going in at Meadowmere Soccer Complex. Grapevine PARD was
notified today that the department through the Green Ribbon Funding was awarded
$300,000 for Phase IV. PARD has received 100% plans for the dog park and is in the
process of reviewing those plans.
Lake Parks/Events, Chris Smith reported on the following:
Occupancy information for The Vineyards Campground & Cabins. The new large
pavilion has been a huge success. The US News and World Report listed The Vineyard
as one of the top 11 Family Friendly Campgrounds in the US. Mentioned July 4 and
wrap-up. Next week PARD will be meeting with GCISD to discuss natural resources
and educational programming the department can provide through partnership with the
district. Upcoming events: Fossil Fest, GrapeYard
Parks Maintenance, Kevin Mitchell reported on the following:
Large amount of activity and construction going on at Meadowmere Park to get it open.
Recreation, Chris Smith reported on the following:
The REC membership incentive program and retention rate of 89%. Camp participation
rate of 2017 compared to 2016 and 2015, Goat Yoga participation numbers. PARD
Aquatics team qualified as the #1 team to send to the Aquatic State Guard Games at
the end of July.
Debra Tridico discussed information about the work partnership program between
Goodwill, Texas Workforce, GCSID, and PARD.
Volunteerism, Kevin Mitchell reported on the following:
A group of volunteers was at Shady Oaks Mobile Home Park today.

Adiourn
Motion was made by Debra Tridico and seconded by John Dalri to adjourn the meeting
at 7:01 p.m.. Motion passed 9-0.
