Mitchell, Director of Parks & Recreation CITY OF GRAPEVINE COUNTY OF TARRANT STATE OF TEXAS The City of Grapevine Parks & Recreation Advisory Board met August 17, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in The REC of Grapevine Administration Conference Room, 1175 Municipal Way, Grapevine, Texas with the following members present, to -wit: MEMBERS LIAISONS Ray Harris, Chairman (6:24 p.m.) Paul Slechta (City Council) Roy Robertson Jorge Rodriguez (GCISD) John Dalri Christian Ross Dave Buhr Debra Tridico Terry Musar Joe Luccioni With the following member absent: Mark Assaad Constituting a quorum with the following members of the City staff: Kevin Mitchell Chris Smith Amanda Rodriguez Cindy Harris The meeting was called to order at 6:05 p.m. A moment of silence was observed. Director Deputy Director Marketing Manager Volunteer Services Liaison Approval of Minutes A motion was made by Debra Tridico and seconded by John Dalri to approve the July 20, 2017 minutes. Motion passed 7-0. Ayes — Roy Robertson, John Dalri, Debra Tridico, Christian Ross, Terry Musar, Joe Luccioni and Dave Buhr. Nays— None Citizen Comments There were no citizen comments. Presentation Amanda Rodriguez, Marketing Manager for the Parks and Recreation Department, presented updated information on the marketing and branding efforts of the department. New Business A motion was made by Dave Buhr and seconded by Roy Robertson to elect Christian Ross as Vice -Chair and Debra Tridico as Secretary—Motion passed 7-0. Ayes – Roy Robertson, John Dalri, Debra Tridico, Christian Ross, Terry Musar, Joe Luccioni and Dave Buhr. Nays– None Cindy Harris brought forward for approval the following Adopt -An -Area Agreements: New Agreements: • DHL -Telesales Ayes – Roy Robertson, John Dalri, Debra Tridico, Christian Ross, Terry Musar, Joe Luccioni and Dave Buhr. Nays – None Ray Harris Abstained PARD Informational Items (No Action Taken) Athletics, Chris Smith reported on the following: I•a Registration for GBS, Adult Softball and Kickball seasons started this week, and agreement has been worked out with The Fieldhouse USA to host the Mid -South Regional Pickleball Tournament March 1-4, 2018. Capital Projects, Chris Smith reported on the following: SH 114 Phase III bid opening Friday. SH 114 Phase II project should be complete by the end of August. Update on dog park plans. Lake Parks/Events, Chris Smith reported on the following: Vineyards revenue is doing great this year. Zebra Mussel testing with USGS will take place at Katie's Woods Friday, August 25. Information about Fossil Fest was mentioned along with GrapeYard. The GO Wild presentation with GCISD was held recently and there are many great opportunities for collaboration. The location move of Carol of Lights to City Hall area was discussed. Parks Maintenance, Kevin Mitchell and Chris Smith reported on the following: Large amount of activity and construction going on at Meadowmere Park to get it open including new entrance, gates etc with the goal of being open for Labor Day. Meadowmere Soccer light project complete in 2 weeks. Concrete being poured for the synthetic turf at Oak Grove Ballfield Complex. Recreation, Kevin Mitchell and Chris Smith reported on the following: Doggie Dive -In Saturday, September 9 10a -3p, number of reservations at The REC was presented along with number of swim students taught this year. The REC will be closed for yearly maintenance Tuesday, September 5 - Sunday, September 10. The REC Stairwell project is set to begin soon. Miscellaneous Board Items (No action taken) GCISD Report — Jorge Rodriguez reported on the following: Classes begin Monday. 1,300 kids at back to school fair. Multi-purpose building should be complete March of 2018 and Cannon Elementary School complete by August 2019. Adjourn Motion was made by John Dalri and seconded by Debra Tridico to adjourn the meeting at 6:55 p.m.. Motion passed 8-0.
