HomeMy WebLinkAbout1987-10-05NO•WE".1kh"W" The Planning and Zoning Carmission of the City of Grapevine, Texas, met jointly with the City Council for a Special Public Hearing on the 5th day of October, 1987, at 5:30 PM in the Council Chambers, Municipal Court Room, the Planning #205, 307 West Dallas Road, with the Zoning Commission following member of present, to wit: Ron Cook Chairman Larry Oliver Vice Chairman Cathy Martin Member Larry Atchley Member Ervin Meyer Member Rodney Smith Member constituting a quorum, with Member Peggy Engholm absent, and the following City Staff: H.T.(Tammy)Hardy Director of Community Development Marcy Ratcliff Planner The meting was called to order and the deliberation session opened by Chairman Ron Cook. ZONING APPLICATION Z87 X9 - MR. ROBERT LINDLEY In the earlier public hearing session, held jointly with the City Council, those present were advised that the subject zoning application was filed September 16, 1987, by Mr. Bob Lindley for 515 East Northwest Highway for the purpose of requesting "HC", Highway Commercial, for the purpose of utilizing an existing structure (presently non -conforming to "CC", Community Commercial District regulations) for a body shop (B & B Auto Body), which would not be allowed in the "CC", Community Commercial District. Those present were also advised that if the City Council approves the zoning request on first reading of the ordinance, it would be contingent that variances are approved, this same evening by the Board of Zoning Adjustment. Then a second reading of the ordinance may be considered by the City Council. Mr. Hardy also advised that the Master Plan indicates commercial for the subject 15,000 square foot site; then Mr. Hardy introduced Mr. Bill Hudson, real estate agent, who advised that when Mr. Lindley purchased the property, it was believed that the proposed use would be permitted as zoned; then later was informed that he must request rezoning to "HC", Highway Com-nercial for a body shop, without outside storage. Then Mr. Lindley offered camments, noting that for his business, there would be no outside storage of cars. In answer to questions Mr. Hardy advised that an autcmtive repair shop involve interior motor repair and body shops pertain to exterior work of cars. The variances needed for the tract were briefly discussed.
