With no further discussion, Tarry Atchley made a motion to recommend

Next the Commission was to consider the proposed amendment to Section
31.C.2., "LI", Light Industrial Zoning District Regulations, to make a
recommendation to the City Council.
The amendment would distinguish between bulk storage of flammable
liquids as an acessory conditional use subject to the provisions of
City and/or State Fire Codes.
There being no recognized problem with the proposed amendment, and the
discussion was a general consensus to approve, the motion from Ery
Meyer and second from Larry Oliver was to recommend that the City
Council establish a resolution to set a public hearing to consider the
amendment, with the prevailing vote as follows:
Ayes: Cook, Oliver, Martin, Atchley, Meyer, Price and Hinson
Nays: None
Absent: None
MISCELLANEOUS DISCUSSION AND REPORTS
Several items were discussed. Mr. Fred Joyce, representing Doyle and
Arlene Dickerson discussed the Dickerson's desires to rezone a present
"R-TH" lot on Belaire Street to "R-5.0" to construct an approximate
1,008 square foot home. No formal action was taken, and the consensus
of the Commission regarding the proposal was favorable.
Next the Commission discussed a possible "R-10" single-family zoning
district. It was decided to further consider the item in a workshop at
6:30 PM, July 19, 1988, prior to the regular City Council Meeting.
Chairman Ron Cook discussed the proposed historical preservation
ordinance. It was agreed that the Commission should prepare the
proposed ordinance and coordinate same with the Historical Preservation
Committee of Grapevine. No formal action was taken on the item; and it
was noted that further consideration would be given in a future
workshop.
Cathy Martin asked if there would be a problem with the masonry
requirements of the "R-TH", Townhouse District, should an existing
frame structure in that district be designated as a historical
structure. It was noted that the avenue of variance request would be
open for if a single-family home exists in the "R-TH" zoned district.
