HomeMy WebLinkAbout1988-12-12A• OL'I'M V, 3 N 41.11 OWN VII %I aTA I Q'I The Planning and Zoning Cam-tission of the City of Grapevine, Texas, met in Workshop Session on this the 12th Day of December, 1988, at 6:30 PM in the Conference Room, #204, for dinner, with the business meting immediately following 307 West Dallas Road, with the following Commission members present, to wit: Ron Cook Chairman Larry Oliver Vice Chairman Ervin Meyer Member John Price Member Robert Hinson Member constituting a quorum, with members Cathy Martin and Larry Atchley absent; and the following City Staff: H. T. (Tbrmy) Hardy Community Development Director Marcy Ratcliff Planner Chris Caso Assistant City Attorney Joy Carroll Planning & Administrative Aide Greg Wheeler Assistant Building Official Also present was Jim Gl-,,mn, Council Representative and Sharron Spencer, City Councilmember. INVOCATION The invocation was offered by Commissioner Robert Hinson. DINNER Dinner was served to Ccm-aissioners and Staff present. CALL TO ORDER Ron Cook, Chairman of the Planning and Zoning Commission called the workshop session to order at 7:15 PM. 10 tn' An First, Marcy Ratcliff, Planner, advised the Planning and Zoning Commission that it is a consideration to reduce the amount of required front yard and open space requirements of the HC District. Desires of the Legislative Affairs Committee Meeting relative to Northwest Highway was discussed. Then the Commissioner's consensus was to possibly allow the open space requirenent to be reduced from 15% to 10%, to possibly reduce the front yard requirezmnt from 25 feet to 10 feet, to eliminate the building coverage restriction, letting the open space and required parking area dictate the maximum building coverage, and to allow 2 story buildings within the maximum height of 35 feet. Following further discussion, no formal action was taken on this item. Next the Commission heard a presentation from Mr. George Field, as the second item. of agenda order rather than the scheduled fourth item. Mr. Fields described the proposed Stonegate II project relative to lots sizes, widths, the one and one-half acre affected by the April 19, 1988, City Council denial, park enlargement and improvements, fencing and the stone column entryway. Renderings of the proposals were displayed and discussed. Mr. Fields noted that the surrounding neighborhoods are offering their support for the proposed development.
