Adjustments of the City of Grapevine, Texas met in a call meeting
with the following members present:
Harold Kaker
Floyd -Deacon
Robert Brown Members
Bill Yancey
Fenton Alley
A. J. Harper Alternate Member
Don Stiles., alternate member was absent.
The first order of the meeting was to elect a Chairman and Acting
Chairman of the board. This was the first meeting for the members
of this board. Mr. Deacon made a motion to elect Mr. Kaker as
Chairman. Motion seconded by Mr. Yancey. Motion prevailed by
the following vote:
Ayes: Messrs. Deacon, Yancey, Brown and Alley.
Noes: None
Mr. Kaker made a motion to elect Mr. Deacon, Acting Chairman.
Motion seconded by Mr. Yancey. Motion prevailed by the following
vote:
Ayes: Messrs. Kaker, Yancey, Brown and Alley.
Noes: None
An Appeal A 70-1, by Mr. R. C. Patterson for replacement of a
structure in a nonconforming district on his property located
at 1423 W. Northwest Highway, Tract 4C1B, T. Mahan Survey, Abst.
1050 was the purpose of the meeting.
There were approximately fifty citizens present.
Chairman Kaker requested the City Attorney to explain the City
Ordinance governing this request. Mr. Bill Tate, City Attorney,
explained the ordinance.
Mr. Patterson presented the plans of his proposed new building
and stated he would comply with all city building codes.
Persons present were given the opportunity to be heard. Approxi-
mately ten persons present were in opposition to granting the
building permit. Approximately thirty-five persons were present
in support of granting the building.permit.
Chairman Kaker asked for a brief adjournment for the board to
discuss information that had been presented. So the board could
render a decision tonight. Board was adjourned.
The Board was recalled and rendered the following; Building
permit to be granted. Specific conditions to be drawn up by
the City Attorney. With the following limitations; the non-
conforming use of the property to terminate in five years,
and limit the number of trucks to fifty-five. Agreement by
property owner, operator and owners of business to take all
measures possible to eliminate excessive noise, water drainage,
dust, and any other environmental pollution associated with
the trucking facility.
The vote on the proposal was as follows:
Ayes: Messrs. Kaker, Yancey, Brown and Alley.
Noes: Mr. Deacon
Meeting adjourned.
