OATH OF OFFICE
City Planner Marc Guy issued the Oath of Office to Member Glenn

PUBLIC HEARING, BZA 82-04, JOHNNIE HIGH
The first order of business to come before the Board of Zoning
Adjustments was the public hearing for and consideration of Appli-
cation No. BZA 82-04 submitted by Mr. Johnnie High.
Mr. High addressed the Board requesting a 2 -foot variance in the
rear yard setback requirement to allow the placement of a canopy/
carport behind his existing office building located on Lot 1,
Block 23, Original Town of Grapevine.
It was noted that all neighboring property owners had been noti-
fied of the variance request and no correspondence had been
received.
After a short discussion, Member Joel Stiner made a motion
approve the variance as requested. Member Glenn Deavers
seconded the motion and it prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes : Buckner, Thompson, Lamb, Deavers, Stiner
Nays : None
Absent: Woods, Wright
PUBLIC HEARING, BZA 82-05, THOMAS WADE
to
The next order of business was for the Board of Zoning Adjustments
to conduct a public hearing for and consider Application No. BZA
82-05 submitted by Mr. Thomas Wade.
Mr. Wade then explained to the Board that he was requesting a
6 -inch variance in the side yard setback requirement. He indi-
cated that he is currently occupying the structure, and that the
variance request was necessitated due to an indiscretion in the
survey of the lot at the time of purchase.
Ms. Rita Dickerson Hill, owner of the lot north of and adjacent
to the lot in question, addressed the Board expressing concern
over how close the existing structure is to the lot line and
possible difficulties which might arise in trying to sell her
lot in the future. Mr. Roger Dickerson also expressed similar
concerns.
City Planner Marc Guy then indicated that two letters had been
received in favor of the requested variance, one from Ms. Vera
Bell Lewis, 3217 Redbird Lane, and one from Gary L. Quinn, 2713
Peninsula Drive.
After a lengthy discussion, a motion was made by Member Doug
Lamb and seconded by Member Gerald Thompson to
table consideration until the October 7, 1982 meeting of the
Board to allow the applicants to possibly resolve the issue
between themselves. The sale of a portion of Ms. Hill's lot
to Mr. Wade was suggested as a possible remedy to the situation.
The motion prevailed as follows:
Ayes : Buckner, Thompson, Lamb, Deavers, Stiner
Nays : None
Absent: Woods & Wright
PUBLIC HEARING, BZA 82-06, BRADCUR PROPERTIES
The next matter to come before the Board of Zoning Adjustments
was to conduct a public hearing and consider Application No.
BZA 82-06 submitted by Bradcur Properties, Inc.
Mr. Mike Curtis, representing Bradcur Properties, Inc., informed
the Board that he was requesting a 19 -foot variance in the front
yard setback requirement on Lot 11 -B -R of the Shorecrest Acres
Addition. He explained that a similar request had been filed
and approved earlier in the year, but that the lot had since
been replatted. Therefore, the variance granted earlier was not
applicable to the newly created lot.
City Planner Marc Guy noted that all neighboring property owners
had been notified of the variance request, and that he had re-
ceived no comments from anyone.
After a short discussion, Member Doug Lamb made a
motion to approve the request as submitted. The motion was
seconded by Member Gerald Thompson and prevailed by the
following vote:
Ayes Buckner, Thompson, Lamb, Deavers, Stiner
Nays None
Absent: Woods & Wright

the meeting of July 1, 1982.
