Charles Cox Member
Jesse Woods Member
Shirley Armstrong Secretary
Guest in attendance included Mr. Howard Collins and daughter,
and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Ray.
Acting Chairman James Buckner called the meeting to order.
Mr. Buckner noted that the purpose of the meeting was to consider
BZA Application # 78-1 submitted by Mr. Howard Collins, 1845
Anglers Plaza. He advised that Mr. Collins had requested a front
yard variance of 15' for the purpose of an added closet and bath
and a 27' front yard variance for the purpose of constructing a
carport.
The City Secretary read into the record the following three items:
t (1) Letter from Mr. and Mrs. L.C. Highnote, 1825 Anglers Plaza,
expressing opposition to the request.
(2) Letter submitted by Mr. and Mrs. G. Richard Grant, 1846 Anglers
Plaza, expressing opposition to the requested variance.
(3) Petition signed by property owners in the Shorecrest Acres
Addition expressing opposition to the request.
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Ray; 1864 Chris Craft were in attendance and
expressed opposition to the request because construction so close
to the property line would not conform with the existing structures.
Mr. Collins stated that he felt the letter to neighboring property
owners was misleading because it did not mention the easement
distance between the property line and the curb.
After a lengthy discussion among both Board Members and guests,
Member Jesse Woods made a motion to deny the entire application.
The motion was seconded by Member Jerry Spencer and prevailed by
the following vote:
Ayes: Buckner, Spencer, Woods and Cox

motion to adjourn. The motion was seconded by Member Jerry
Spencer and all in attendance voted aye.
