The City of Grapevine Parks & Recreation Advisory Board met September 21, 2017 at
6:00 p.m. in The Bessie Mitchell House at the Botanical Gardens, 411 Ball Street,
Grapevine, Texas with the following members present, to -wit:

The meeting was called to order at 6:03 p.m.
A moment of silence was observed.

Approval of Minutes
A motion was made by Roy Robertson and seconded by John Dalri to approve the
August 17, 2017 minutes. Motion passed 8-0.
Ayes — Ray Harris, Roy Robertson, Joe Luccioni, John Dalri, Mark Assaad, Debra
Tridico, Christian Ross, and Dave Buhr.
Nays— None
Absent — Terry Musar

There were no citizen comments.
New Business
Consider approval of the following renewal Adopt -An -Area agreement:
• IronTrex Triathlon for Lakeview Park area from Lakeview Boat Ramp North to
Slough Drive
A motion was made by Christian Ross and seconded by Roy Robertson to approve the
renewal adopt -an -area agreement. Motion passed 8-0.
Ayes — Ray Harris, Roy Robertson, Joe Luccioni, John Dalri, Mark Assaad, Debra
Tridico, Christian Ross, and Dave Buhr.
Nays— None
Absent — Terry Musar
Consider approval of the following new Adopt -An -Area agreements:
• Hall's Pumpkin Farm for the north side of Hall Johnson Road from WT Parr Lane
to Pool Road
• Dean & Beth Smith for Wildwood Lane from Ruth Wall Road to Dooley Street
• Bikram Yoga for North Main Street from Northwest Highway to Dove Loop Road
• Ken & Clydene Johnson for Ball Street from Northwest Highway to Ira E. Woods
Avenue
A motion was made by John Dalri and seconded by Dave Buhr to approve the new
adopt -an -area agreements. Motion passed 8-0.
Ayes — Ray Harris, Roy Robertson, Joe Luccioni, John Dalri, Mark Assaad, Debra
Tridico, Christian Ross, and Dave Buhr.
Nays— None

Presentation
Meredith Shirley gave a presentation over the remaining community events for 2017 —
Sunset Concert Series, Grapeyard and Carol of Lights.
PARD Informational Items (No Action Taken)
Athletics, Chris Smith reported on the following:
TAAF Conference, artificial turf at Oak Grove Ballfields is complete, shade installed over
the dugouts at Bear Creek and the bleacher area.
Capital Projects, Chris Smith reported on the following:
SH 114 Phase III, Plant Propagation class, Butterfly Sculpture at the Botanical Gardens
& The REC staircase
Lake Parks/Events, Chris Smith reported on the following:
Jurassic Gardens, Meadowmere Park status, 5k's, trail build partnership with REI,
Vineyards Campground, RISE Adventure Sports
Parks Maintenance, Chris Smith reported on the following:
Oak Grove Soccer playground and the new playground at Pecan Park. TRAPS North
Region Park Maintenance Rodeo on October 11 at Oak Grove
Recreation, Chris Smith reported on the following:
Special needs swim night, Baylor Scott & White Fall prevention, Car Fit Program,
TRAPS annual golf tournament, sauna at The REC, & shuttle service for active adults
Volunteerism, Chris Smith reported on the following:

Grapevine Faith workathons at Meadowmere, Nash Farm and Botanical Gardens.

GCISD Report — Jorge Rodriguez reported on the following:
National Merit Scholars and ACT/SAT results.
Adjourn
Motion was made by Debra Tridico and seconded by Ray Harris to adjourn the meeting
at 6:45 p.m. Motion passed 8-0.
Ayes — Ray Harris, Roy Robertson, Joe Luccioni, John Dalri, Mark Assaad, Debra
Tridico, Christian Ross, and Dave Buhr.
Nays— None
