This purchase is for 28 tons of a 35-0-5 Andersons fertilizer to fertilize the entire golf
course except for greens. This fertilizer is a season long, slow release type, which will be
applied one time, and will replace the normal practice of applying fertilizer three times
per season. It also contains spring pre-emergent weed control. The benefits of using this
product, from a grass growing perspective, is it provides a steady supply of nutrients the
grass needs throughout the season and from an operational standpoint, it reduces the
labor required to apply from three times to one time and eliminates the spraying of
spring pre-emergent which required two men for two weeks to complete. This will result
in the reduction time that parts of the course would have to be closed while applications
were made along with the cost savings !in labor. Of the two quotes received, Winfield
