FROM: BRUNO RUMBELOW, CITY MANAGER \"
MEETING DATE: DECEMBER 5, 2017
SUBJECT: COURY HOSPITALITY GUARANTEED MAXIMUM PRICE
CONTRACT FOR PHASE I OF CONSTRUCTION OF THE MAIN
STATION PROJECT
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council consider a contract with Coury Hospitality for Phase I of the Grapevine Main
station project in an amount not to exceed $30,185,180
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funding is available in the General Facilities Capital Projects Fund — 177.
Approval of this contract will provide authorization for the Coury/Manhattan team to
begin construction of the Grapevine Main garage, basement, and site work. The City
Council approved the project budget on November 16, 2017, and staff committed to
bring the Phase I contract on December 5, 2017. The contract is a guaranteed
maximum price (GMP) not to exceed $30,185,180. This will enable Manhattan to
mobilize on site in December and begin construction so that the garage is ready to
receive commuter rail traffic by December 2018. As you may recall, the second GMP
will be before Council by the first meeting in March.
Staff recommends approval.
