This letter confirms on December 27, 2017 the Historic Preservation staff approved wl"th
cond"ifions, #CA17-144 for the property addressed 314 West College Street,; legally
described as Block: 1, Lot: 1 RZ First United Methodist Church of Grapevine Addition, City of
Grapevine, Texas. The following was approved on this Certificate of Appropriateness:
1. Remove and replace existing skirting of house and attached front porch tt
facilitate leveling of the house foundation;
2. Replace house skirting with imprinted metal skirting to be painted in houssn;
color scheme;
3. Replace porch skirting with pressure treated wood lattice in diamond pattern;
4. Construct new cedar wood fence in rear yard of house six feet in height with
2'x4' cedar rails mounted on metal posts with all posts to be boxed in with
wood;
as per the attached drawings and photos with the condition a building permit is
obtained from the Building Department.

Remove lower skirting from existing resIdence to facilitate access to both the perimeter an,d interior floor
bearris along with all of the existing foundation piers.
After the raising atid leveling of the residence, the repair and replacing of any wood rot, the repair and
reinforcing of the fOLIndation beams and the installation of new pad and block foundation elements thel'i
the skirting will be replaced with, new embossed, galvanIzed metal, skirting pariels. The front porch will
also be re -skirted with new lattice screening.

The proposed new skirting and l,attice screening will be paintedto match the existing residence and front

A 6 ft. high cedar wood fence with 3-ralls and dog-ear pickets. With 2X4 cedar rails to help prevent sag-
ging and nailed with hot dipped galvanized fasteners to minimize streaking and add durability.
The fence is to be constructed with i-rietal poles and fasteners, which will be boxed in with cedar pickets in
order to conceal the metal poles.
This proposed fence Aso n"ilatches the style and construction of the previously approved and installed,
fence for the nelghbor's residence at 302'West College St. Grapevine TX.
The 1.st United Methodist ChUIT11, of Grapevine (the adjoining property to the north) has requested the
fences for th,e two adjoining residences, to th,eir south, match in appearance and construction techniques,
