Secretary Janet Perkins reported 215 active members in January; membership renewal
notices were mailed out; and $475 was received in donations. City Council Liaison Mike
Lease asked if all GHF Advisory Board members were currently active; Secretary
Perkins answered, yes and reported the AMBUC's date he arranged for the GHF
Speakers Bureau to speak to the group was scheduled for March 20, 2018.
Farm Manager Cody Jolliff reported the Nash Farm First Friday program celebrated the
Nation's First President, a very popular late Victorian tradition, with 30 people attending.
The following day on Saturday, February 3, the Farm hosted the Victorian Valentines
family program for its second year, with 39 paid admissions and many others coming
later in the day. On Saturday, February 10, staff held a Victorian Candy Making
Workshop. The McPherson smokehouse was moved to the Farm, it will sit on perimeter
beams with four joists to support it. Treasurer Balla Wright reported $12,500 had been
pledged for annual sponsorships to include the spring and fall events. She asked each
member of the Foundation's Advisory Board to bring in at least one sponsor, asking all
to focus on the education assets of the Farm. Council Liaison Mike Lease asked for 20
of the spiral sponsorship folders and 40 copies of the one page Nash Farm Sponsorship
Opportunities to be brought to the March 20th AMBUCs meeting with the GHF Speakers
Bureau program.
Managing Director of Operations for the Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau Paula
Newman reported on the Palace Arts Center (PAC) saying January was a good month
with 51 new and 45 rebookings; 2,975 guests attending; $24,342 in rental income and
Friday night would be a special evening with a Kraig Parker dinner concert. The British
Emporium will celebrate their 25th anniversary in Grapevine on February 24 with an
afternoon movie, "A Fish Called Wanda", and a special night with tribute band "A Hard
Nights Day" performing at the Palace Theatre. Maintenance for the PAC included
continued roofing quotes and a request for quotes to replace one of the air conditioning
units.

trades, utilizing many of our heritage locations in Grapevine. He called on the board for
their help during the conference with introductions; he shared a postcard to be mailed
out to local museums and historic associations.
Chairman Ratliff called on the Foundation's board to get involved and help. The
conference is planned for Thursday education class tours of Historic Main Street; Friday
will be Farmers Institute Workshops; Saturday will be "hands on" educational sessions;
and Sunday will be a half day of sessions ending at noon. The conference dinner will
be a ball, hopefully in the Grand Hall, with a 19th century brass band. Treasurer Wright
asked if there would be period dress and was answered yes it will be needed for the
Friday evening reception at Nash Farm.
The Association for Living History, Farm and Agricultural Museums (ALHFAM) will be
held in Tahlequah, Oklahoma on June 1 — 5, 2018, Interpreting Our Multicultural Past is
the theme. The conference will be co -hosted by the Cherokee Nation and the Oklahoma
Historical Society. Northeastern University will have some rooms available on campus,
in the upperclassmen apartments, in what used to be the Cherokee Girls School. Nash
Farm staff will be presenting historic programming. Chairman Ratliff encouraged all to
attend and stated he had a real appreciation for what Cody does.

with photograph as advertised. He said 47 bid packets had been requested and he had

wiring will have to be replaced and there is room for an addition of a master bedroom
suite, baths and a two -car garage on the west side. Chairman Ratliff noted the structure
of the existing house is good with good bones from the "get -go", perhaps built by the
Grapevine's Estill Family of carpenters. The house is in excellent condition as it has
always held a family and not stood vacant. The 1903 Blevins House at 428 East Wall
Street was approved before the Board of Zoning Appeals and is now ready for
foundation work to begin.
