Mitchell, Director of Parks & Recreation CITY OF GRAPEVINE COUNTY OF TARRANT STATE OF TEXAS The City of Grapevine Parks & Recreation Advisory Board met March 22, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in the Administration Conference Room at The REC of Grapevine, 1175 Municipal Way, Grapevine, Texas with the following members present, to -wit: MEMBERS Ray Harris Roy Robertson Joe Luccioni John Dalri Terry Musar Mark Assaad Debra Tridico Christian Ross Dave Buhr With the following liaison absent: Jorge Rodriguez (GCISD Board) LIAISONS Paul Slechta (City Council) Annemarie Martin (GCISD — Student) Constituting a quorum with the following members of the City staff: Kevin Mitchell, Director Chris Smith, Deputy Director Amanda Rodriguez, Marketing Manager The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. A moment of silence was observed. Approval of Minutes A motion was made by Dave Buhr and seconded by Joe Luccioni to approve the February 15, 2018 minutes. Motion passed 9-0. Ayes — Ray Harris, Roy Robertson, Joe Luccioni, John Dalri, Terry Musar, Mark Assaad, Debra Tridico, Christian Ross, and Dave Buhr. Nays— None Citizen Comments No citizen comments were received. Presentation Kevin Mitchell gave a presentation over the Open Space Master Plan dynamic document and opened the floor for the Board to make suggestions or additions. At the upcoming April Park Board meeting, staff will present the plan to the Board one more time before it is taken to City Council for adoption. PARD Information Items: Athletics — Pickleball tournament & GBS Opening Day. Capital Projects — Dog Park at Bear Creek and the Trinity River Authority. Lake Parks — None given. Events — Wettest Egg Hunt, Adaptive Wettest Egg Hunt & Twilight Community Egg Hunt Park Maintenance — Grapevine Garden Club was awarded the volunteer group of the year from TRAPS. Recreation — Awarded the Lone Star Programming award from TRAPS for goat yoga. Volunteerism — We were awarded a $250K grant for the Governor's Community Achievement Award from Keep Texas Beautiful. TRAPS awarded Kevin Mitchell the President's Award and the department the Marketing Award. Miscellaneous Board Items: Student Report — Annemarie Martin reported on the following: Special Olympics, high school upcoming dances, upcoming walks & track meet. GCISD Report — None given. Adjourn Motion was made by Dave Buhr and seconded by John Dalri to adjourn the meeting at 7:29 p.m. Motion passed 9-0. Ayes — Ray Harris, Roy Robertson, Joe Luccioni, John Dalri, Terry Musar, Mark Assaad, Debra Tridico, Christian Ross, and Dave Buhr.
