We spoke to David this morning. He says he can approve our fence as long as it meets the requirements of the city. In fact, David says our proposed fence is one that the historical committee considered for Nash Farm. Our proposed fence is not as tall as the fence down the street at Nash Farm nor is it as close to the road. Since our home is back 175+feet from the street, our 13 grandchildren are often playing in the large front yard. In order to protect them from our rather busy street, we wanted a "safe"fence to protect them, as well as fitting the look of a 1900's farmhouse (which is what our home was built to represent). The fence is custom made with hog wire and cedar. We want it the proposed height so that the grandchildren can not climb out.The fence is at least 95%see-through. We would appreciate reconsideration in approving our plans. It shall be unlawful to erect a fence over 36 inches in height in the required front yard or the established front yard whichever area is greater in depth and the fence that does not have 50 percent through vision. As per your email the fence will be 95 % see through but it will be more that 36 inches in height which is noncompliance to fence ordinance. If you want to go through Building Board of Appeal for variance, contact 817-410-3158 for the information. Provide site plan/survey of the property showing fence and gate location on it.
