Mitchell, Director of Parks & Recreation CITY OF GRAPEVINE COUNTY OF T STATE OF TEXAS The City of Grapevine Parks & Recreation Advisory Board met May 17, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in the Administration Conference Room at The REC of Grapevine, 1175 Municipal Way, Grapevine, Texas with the following members present, to-wit: MEMBERS LIAISONS Ray Harris Paul Slechta (City Council) Roy Robertson Annemarie Martin (GCISD — Student) Joe Luccioni Terry Musar Mark Assaad Debra Tridico Christian Ross Dave Buhr With the following member absent: John Dalri With the following liaison absent: Jorge Rodriguez (GCISD Board) Constituting a quorum with the following members of City staff: Kevin Mitchell, Director Chris Smith, Deputy Director The meeting was called to order at 6:01 p.m. A moment of silence was observed. Approval of Minutes A motion was made by Joe Luccioni and seconded by Debra Tridico to approve the April 19, 2018 minutes. Motion passed 8-0. Ayes — Ray Harris, Roy Robertson, Joe Luccioni, Terry Musar, Mark Assaad, Debra Tridico, Christian Ross, and Dave Buhr. Nays — None Absent: John Dalri Citizen Comments No citizen comments were received. Presentation: Kevin Mitchell & Chris Smith reported on the following: Athletics: All-Star tournaments for softball and baseball & Main Street Fest tennis tournament * Capital Projects: Green Ribbon project phase IV, Oak Grove Softball, Bessie Mitchell House remodel & Bear Creek Dog Park * Lake Parks: Meadowmere Park (opening 7 days a week starting May 25 & 300 Boy Scouts camping at the Park this weekend), boat ramps (Sand Bass remains the only one closed), & Dove Creek Day Camp (run by City staff this year) * Events: Mom & Me Tea, Father Son Amazing Race, environmental education field trips (paid) from Birdville ISD at the Botanical Gardens ® Park Maintenance: installing utilities for the new restroom at Lakeview Park, revamping irrigation at Pecan Park, Main Street Fest setup, & the Yorkshire Meadows community input meeting ® Recreation: Outdoor pools open Memorial day weekend and officially open 7 days a week for the summer season on June 1, aquatic staff training, active adult chorus to give a Memorial Day performance, & The REC membership appreciation day surveys * Volunteerism: The next volunteer opportunity is Father Son Amazing Race on June 9. Miscellaneous Board Items: Student Report — Annemarie Martin reported on the following: End of school year schedule, the Walk of Honor at the new stadium and first game date in new stadium, and Colleyville baseball currently in playoffs. GCISD Report — None given Adjourn Motion was made by Debra Tridico and seconded by Mark Assaad to adjourn the meeting at 6:37 p.m. Motion passed 8-0.
