Using concrete saw, cut the tops of the concrete support piers, to lower the finish height of the piers under the porch columns; 2. Remove and replace rotted wood, porch columns, porch joists and porch decking as needed on the existing rear porch, adjoining the new concrete rail platform; 3. Install a new 6" wide steel plate transition strip between the wood porch deck and the concrete rail platform; as per the attached plans, specifications and photos with the condition a permit be obtained from the Building Department. An approved CgrtJificate of Appropriateness is not an approved Building Permit and a permit pis, J is not required. Construct a new porch in the same fashion. Cut existing concrete piers to accomidate new structure as needed, frame new structure using treated yellow pine 2x8 lumber, doubled at perimiter and beams, prime and paint yellow pine tounge and groove flooring (both top and underside), install porch flooring using blind fasteners, replace five 4x4 posts. 13: Construct new stairs of 2x lumber on west porch with wood handrail on the south side of the stairs. C. Paint all new construction with color codes given.
