CALL TO ORDER

1. Returning board members, Larry Hallmark and Joy Mayo, to receive oath of office.
CITIZEN COMMENTS
2. Any person who is not scheduled on the agenda may address the Animal Shelter Advisory
Committee under Citizen Comments by completing a Citizen Appearance Request form. In
accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, the Committee is restricted in discussing or taking
action during Citizen Comments.

3. Elect Committee Chair.
4. Consider the minutes of June 6, 2018 Animal Shelter Advisory Committee meeting.
5. Review of shelter statistics for the quarter.
6. Grapevine Dog Park.
7. Facility status.
8. Animal ordinances and fees status.
9. General shelter updates and event information.

The Animal Shelter Advisory Committee of the City of Grapevine, Texas met in Regular Session on the 51 day
of September, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. in the PD Training Room, 1007 Ira E. Woods, Grapevine, Texas 76051, with
the following members present to -wit:
Dr. Tannetje' Crocker Member, Veterinarian
Lt. Larry Hallmark Chair, Grapevine Police Department
Joy Mayo Member, Grapevine Citizen
Nancy Snyder Member, Grapevine Citizen
Kristan Turns Member, Animal Welfare Representative
Kristina Valentine Member, Grapevine Animal Services
constituting a quorum, and the following liaison present:
Duff O'Dell, Grapevine City Council
CALL TO ORDER
Lt. Hallmark called the meeting to order at 1:35 p.m.
ITEM 1. OATH OF OFFICE
Joy Mayo and Larry Hallmark received Oath of Office by Chief Michael Hamlin.
ITEM 2.CITIZEN COMMENTS
No citizen comments.
ITEM 3. ELECT CHAIRPERSON
Joy Mayo nominated Larry Hallmark. Kristan Turns seconded. All in favor.
ITEM 4. CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES
The Committee was provided a copy of the June 61h, 2018 meeting minutes. Nancy Snyder made a motion to
approve the minutes, and Joy Mayo seconded. Motion prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes: Crocker, Hallmark, Mayo, Snyder, Turns, Valentine
Nays: None

ITEM 6. DOG PARK UPDATE
Dog park rules reviewed and general construction updates given. Parks and Rec Board to discuss and will need
to go before City Council.
ITEM 7. FACILITY STATUS
Architect group selected and working through contract.
ITEM 8. ANIMAL ORDINANCES AND FEE STATUS
Fees and ordinances back to City Council within the next few months. We have taken feedback from January
City Council meeting and adjusted accordingly. Will provide information to Advisory Committee via email prior
to City Council date.
ITEM 9. GENERAL SHELTER UPDATES AND EVENTS

• PetSmart adoptions: 46 from 6/1-8/31
• Facebook followers 9,829, up from 7,600; information also shared on NextDoor and Twitter
• Received $1,000 for our first 50 adoptions from PetSmart Charities
• Clear the Shelters Results:
o 8/18 26 adoptions (19 cats, 7 dogs); CTS Campaign 7/28-8/18 56 adoptions (40 cats, 16 dogs)
• Past Events —Vaccine clinic 7/14-71 vaccinated
• Upcoming Events-2018 Vaccine Clinic dates are 9/8, 11/3; PetSmart Adoption Weekend 9/15, 11/10;
Pet Yoga 9/22, 9/29, 10/13, 10/27; Next ASAC Meeting 12/5
No action was taken by the Committee.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Committee, Nancy Snyder offered a motion to adjourn the
meeting at 2:47 p.m. and Joy Mayo seconded. Motion prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes: Crocker, Hallmark, Mayo, Snyder, Turns, Valentine
Nays: None
