Women's Integrated Healthcare P.A., a practice for Obstetrics and Gynecology, is located within the medical complex which currently contains Paid Off -Street Parking. Our patients are having to park at the Baylor. Medical Center of Grapevine, the surrounding medical facilities, and on the street to attend their appointments: Due to the high volume of obstetric patients and the frequency of their visits, we are writing in support of the amendment to the Grapevine Zoning. Code Ordinance, Appendix D. Sincerely, Sincerely, Angela ope, D. Barbara Coulter -Smith, D.O. WIR Mir RECEIVED DEC r 7 2001 A N i`J I` N G December 17, 2001 Ms. Linda Huff City Secretary City of Grapevine P.O. Box 95104 Grapevine, TX 76099 Dear Ms. Huff, r3tfiliatrd with the Family Practice Mark S. Mayfield, M.D. Internal M«nicine Carlos Bazaldua, M.D. Judy L. Yates, M.D. I am writing to issue my strong support of Grapevine's Code Ordinance — Appendix D, "Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance Relative to Paid Off -Street Parking". I am a family Physician whose practice is located in the Christ Medical Plaza (1601 Lancaster Drive). Unfortunately, the owners of the building installed pay parking gates on our patient parking area, something which I feel is not only inappropriate for Grapevine and our hospital community, but a potential danger to our patients. Many of our elderly and disabled patients have felt that they had no choice but to park in the street, get out in traffic, and walk quite a distance to the entrance, which is on the back side of the building. Some have had to maneuver their wheel- chairs around the gates, in the rain, in order to even get into the lot which takes them to the entrance. On an occasion where an ambulance was called to the office, the ambulance was unable to get through the gates, so the patient had to be carried by stretcher out to the street. Our patients, overall, have been quite angry about the gates, and I believe I speak for them when I strongly support the above Code Ordinance. Sincerely, Mark S. Not surprisingly our largest complaint is the parking gates. A large percentage of our patients are on fixed income needing frequent doctors visits to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Needless to say our patients feel the owner is taking advantage of this situation.
