ITEM 1 - Summary of Golf Ouerations 4'" Quarter & Discussion (Russell Pulley)
Russell reported on the 0 quarter operations of2018 vs. 2017. Russell reported that the 2018
0 quarter was down from 2017 with a YTD being fairly flat to 2017. Russell reported that
merchandise sales were up for 2018 primarily due toequipment sales and GGA winnings. The
biggest impact on the 4'h quarter was the weather, with February being very cold and wet, July
very hot (13 days of 100+ temps.), and September being the third wettest on record. Successes:
Jr Academy, PGA Junior League and Get Golf Ready programs continue to grow. Overall Golf
instruction continues to grow promoting more golf activity, range activity as well as increased
merchandise sales. Challenges: Weather being the big factor. Very hot (top 5 hottest on record
with 13+ days of] 0o+ temps), and September being the wettest on record. Fairway Drive
closing on August 13 and not scheduled to reopen until sometime in 2019 was another
contributing factor along with the weather.
ITEM 2 — Clubhouse Project undate & Discussion (Russell Pulley)
Russell reported that Thiel and Thiel had been hire as the Architect ofrecord for the Clubhouse
Project. An RFP for CMAR (construction Manager at Risk) will be the next step scheduled in the
upcoming weeks. Site Location has yet to be determined with a possibility of 3 possible sites:
existing site, east of the current clubhouse between cart barn and Big putting green, and west of
Concourse between concourse and practice range. Bryan Flumpheys ask about parking lot
changes and how it might be paid for as well as the possibility of using solar Panels to help with
possible cost savings.
ITEM 3 — Instructional Program update (Jr Academy Jr League Get Golf Ready) (Robert
Singletary)
Robert reported on the growth ofthe Grapevine Golf Academy, The PGA Junior League
involvement and the Get Golf Ready programs that the Golf Course is involved with. The
Academy continues to grow, but slowly as expected. Junior camps, PGA Junior League matches
and Get Golf Ready classes continue to be full with additional Get Golf ready classes needing to
be added.
ITEM 4 — Golf Course Maintenance Report (Tray Poskey)
Asst. Supt. Tray Poskey in Merlin's absence reported that July and August were dry and super
wet in September and October. Overseeding of all tees, both golf course and practice range as
well as target greens on practice range is scheduled for early October. Fescue to be seeded
under tree areas is scheduled also. Tray reported that they had been fighting some disease on the
greens due to all the recent rains, mainly on the big purring green. Tom Cherry asked about tree
trimming and Tray reported that this is a winter project that is done more during the winter
slower months when not consumed with the mowing that is needed.
