Dear Ms. Whitaker:
We have reviewed the design drawings for the proposed pool at the referenced project.
We are of the opinion the minimum 5'-4" dimension from the existing house patio foundation to
the inside of the pool structure beam along the east side of the house is adequate. The maximum
5'-0" depth of the pool adjacent to the house foundation does not intersect the house foundation-
bearing envelope and therefore will not adversely affect the existing house foundation.
Additionally, we are of the opinion the minimum 4'-10" dimension from the existing house
foundation to the inside of the pool structure beam along the east side of the house is adequate.
The maximum 3'-6" depth along the inside of the pool perimeter wall at the southwest corner
adjacent to the house foundation does not intersect the house foundation bearing envelope and
therefore will not adversely affect the existing house foundation.

Thanks for sending this over Manda. We have researched this property and it falls under one of the rare situations
where the Corps of Engineers did not purchase the flowage easement on the property. Based on our research, our
authority would stop at the property line in this situation.
They'll likely still have to deal with FEMA, but they won't need our approval.
