SUBJECT: ZONE CHANGE REQUEST Z02-01
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the City Council consider the applicant's request to table Zone
Change Request Z02-01 to the May 21, 2002 meeting and take any other action
necessary.
The applicant, Mr. G. Phillip Morley of Morley Architects has requested this case be
tabled in order to resolve issues relative to the dedication of right-of-way and the
extension of Heritage Avenue through the subject site. See the attached letter.

Airport staff has reviewed the ro osed re uest to rezone 13.54 acres from
"LI" Light Industrial District to "CC" Community Commercial District for a
proposed medical office/professional office and retail development and finds
that the new designation is compatible with Airport and aviation activities.
We would like to point out that the exhibit map for Z02-01 incorrectly denotes
the property owners tract extending across the Airports property line. Such
is not the case and the exhibit requires revision prior to the "Public Hearing".
Also given the location of the project, we would highly recommend that the
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) be given an opportunity to review the
proposed use. Alow, t e app scant s ou e a vise o t eir ob igation under
Federal Aviation Regulation to notify the FAA of their intent to construct and
to seek a FAA airspace review.
