Replace four 32" x 64" windows on first floor front elevation with reclaimed properly sized 25" x 64" windows to restore the original appearance; 2. Widen front steps to 6 feet wide and construct a handrail on each side; relocate original fieldstone step to rear of house, fieldstone step to remain on site; 3. Replace rear facing second story door with 32" x 64" window; 4. Replace two 25" x 64" windows on rear facing second story with 32" x 64" relocated from frirst floor. Use these 25" x 64" to restore original front elevation; 5. Delete two 32" x 64" windows and fill in opening with current #105 siding; 6. Delete door and window on east facing elevation and fill in openings with current #105 siding; 7. Remove wood stairway and porch currently being utilized for east facing entry door; 8. Remove two 32" x 24" windows on rear facing first floor elevation and fill in opening with current #105 siding; 9. Delete two 32" x 24" windows on east facing first floor elevation; 10. Delete the 25" x 45" window and replace with a reclaimed 34" x 24" window; 11. He is the former Director of Research for the Arts & Crafts Society. Schweitzer is the author of the book Bungalow Colors - Exterior, [Gibbs -Smith, Fall 2002] which details the exterior color combinations of Arts & Crafts era homes. He is the co-author of the widely acclaimed America's Favorite Homes, a book that details the history and architectural styles of popular housing types available as "kits" in the U.S. from the turn of the century to World War 11. He has also authored over sixty articles in scholarly journals and popular magazines on American architectural history and historic colors. He had been a "judge" for National Color Contest of Victorian Homes magazine where he contributes articles on historic exterior painting. His research collection provided many of the historic visual images for the HGTV special "The American Bungalow." His client homes have been seen on "Restore America," and "Curb Appeal" TV shows. The homes he has consulted on have won many awards including the Grand Prize in the Chicago's Painted Lad X contest, three times, and a National Palladio award in 2012. Rob performs consulting services for homeowners, architects and businesses in the areas of historic preservation, historic design and historic paint colors. By understanding the architectural history of your building, he can develop paint schemes that reflect the original intent of its design and highlight its important design features.
