OLD BUSINESS
Secretary Janet Perkins reported membership at 222 active members and $905 in
donations, some being from the end of the year letters for donations.
Vice Chairman Melva Stanfield gave the Nash Farm report for December with 144
attending the First Friday program, 484 at the Victorian Christmas event, 230
participated in the Farmstead Christmas program, 304 in the interpretive group tours
and 423 daily visitors during the month.
The first two weeks in January at the Farm had 115 attend the First Friday program, the
two-day Butchering & Curing Workshop had 30 on Saturday and 32 attendees on
Sunday, and a total of 279 visitors to date for January. Farm Manager Cody Jolliff
reported a fresh coat of paint on the 1907 Historic Barn had been completed.
Treasurer Balla Wright reported $13,000 in sponsorships; and requested a current
Sponsorship packet to obtain different levels of sponsorship.
Managing Director Paula Newman reported the Palace Arts Center roof work had been
completed; the updated sound system is working great. There had been a major water
leak on the Weems Alley side, lucky enough it had all flowed quickly to a nearby storm
drain and was repaired with a new sleeve put in. Entertainment is scheduled for new
genres of music, comedians, singers and a play to be performed.
Chairman Ratliff thanked Paula Newman for the Palace Arts Center's January 4, 2019
memorial of longtime patron Arthur Emerson; he said it was greatly appreciated by
Arthur's daughter and son-in-law and a very nice service in remembrance of Arthur.
NEW BUSINESS
Farm Manager Cody Jolliff reported the Butchering & Curing Workshop had sold out all
30 places for both days with attendees coming from far remote Texas, Tennessee and
Louisiana. The workshop was recognized through the Association for Living History,

alarm to be the first to purchase his spaces in the workshop on the first day of
registration.
