Adjournment The next meeting of the Grapevine Heritage Foundation will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at 5:00 pm at Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau 2"d Floor Boardroom, 636 South Main Street, Grapevine, Texas. Acts of the 1993 Texas Legislature, the Grapevine Heritage Foundation Board meeting agenda was prepared and posted by the 11 th day of January, 2019 at 5:00 pm. �G� • David Klempin Manager, Heritage Programs & Preservation 16 January 2019 STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF TARRANT CITY OF GRAPEVINE The Grapevine Heritage Foundation (GHF) Advisory Board met at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 in the Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau, 2nd Floor Boardroom, 636 South Main Street, Grapevine, Texas 76051 for their regular scheduled monthly meeting. CALL TO ORDER Chairman Curtis Ratliff called the meeting to order at 5 p.m. and thanked all for attending. II. CITIZEN COMMENTS There were no citizen comments. Any person who is not scheduled on the agenda may address the Historic Preservation Commission under Citizen Comments by completing a Citizen Appearance Request form. In accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, the Advisory Board is restricted in discussing or taking action during Citizen Comments. 1 January 16,2019 16 January 2019 III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Janet Perkins made the motion to accept the minutes as written from the December 18, 2018 meeting. Melva Stanfield seconded the motion, which prevailed in the following vote: Ayes: All (Ratliff, Stanfield, Wright, Perkins, Fray and Hummer) Nays: None Absent: (Franks, Jensen and Stinson) OLD BUSINESS Secretary Janet Perkins reported membership at 222 active members and $905 in donations, some being from the end of the year letters for donations. Vice Chairman Melva Stanfield gave the Nash Farm report for December with 144 attending the First Friday program, 484 at the Victorian Christmas event, 230 participated in the Farmstead Christmas program, 304 in the interpretive group tours and 423 daily visitors during the month. The first two weeks in January at the Farm had 115 attend the First Friday program, the two-day Butchering & Curing Workshop had 30 on Saturday and 32 attendees on Sunday, and a total of 279 visitors to date for January. Farm Manager Cody Jolliff reported a fresh coat of paint on the 1907 Historic Barn had been completed. Treasurer Balla Wright reported $13,000 in sponsorships; and requested a current Sponsorship packet to obtain different levels of sponsorship. Managing Director Paula Newman reported the Palace Arts Center roof work had been completed; the updated sound system is working great. There had been a major water leak on the Weems Alley side, lucky enough it had all flowed quickly to a nearby storm drain and was repaired with a new sleeve put in. Entertainment is scheduled for new genres of music, comedians, singers and a play to be performed. Chairman Ratliff thanked Paula Newman for the Palace Arts Center's January 4, 2019 memorial of longtime patron Arthur Emerson; he said it was greatly appreciated by Arthur's daughter and son-in-law and a very nice service in remembrance of Arthur. NEW BUSINESS Farm Manager Cody Jolliff reported the Butchering & Curing Workshop had sold out all 30 places for both days with attendees coming from far remote Texas, Tennessee and Louisiana. The workshop was recognized through the Association for Living History, Farm and Agriculture Museums (ALHFAM) site with one fellow setting his calendar alarm to be the first to purchase his spaces in the workshop on the first day of registration. 2 January 16,2019 16 January 2019 The Skills & Trades Exposition is moving forward with all set for their assignments; flags will be posted representing the states and nations attending; and the Mayor will attend the Calico Ball to welcome and address the attendees.
