HomeMy WebLinkAboutA 5.0 Parade Permit Policy 2002-03-06 CITY OF GRAPEVINE SECTION q ADMINI�TRATIVE POLICY NUMBER 5.0 �r suB�ECT: PARADE PERMIT POLICY PA�E 1 OF 1 � PREPARED BY: CI�/ Mallag@C'S OfFIC@ EFFECTIVE DATE Q$-Qs-Q2 PURPO�E The purpose of a parade/run permit application process policy is to insure the safety of all participants and to allow City departments adequate information to prepare for the event. _ PROCEDURE -- Anyone considering holding a race, rally or parade on public property must submit an " application to the Parks and Recreation Department, no less than 30 days prior to the �" event. The application (see appendix) contains information on the location, the number of attendees expected, a traffic plan, etc. The application must be notarized. The Parks and Recreation Department will forward the application to the City Manager's Office, the Risk Manager, the Public Works Department, the Police Department and the Fire Department. Each Department will sign the application and note any concerns that -- they have or any conditions tl�at should be met prior to approval. The Police Chief will have final approval. An application will be approved, approved with conditions, or denied within ten business days of its submittal. " Indemnity The holder of this permit shall waive all claims, fully release, indemnify, defend and hold harmless the City and all of its officials, officers, agents, consultants, and employees in both their public and private capacities, from any and all liability, claims, suits, demands or causes of action, including all expenses of litigation and / or settlement which may arise by injury to property or person occasioned by error, omission, intentional or negligent act of the permit holder, its officers, agents, consultants, representatives, and employees, arising out of or in connection with the activities authorized pursuant to this permit, and the permit holder will, at its own cost and expense, defend and protect the City and all of its officials, officers, agents, consultants, and employees in both their public and private capacities, from any and all such cla'ims and demands. This indemnity shall apply whether the claims, suits, losses, damages, causes of action or liability arise in whole or in part from the intentional acts or negligence of the holder of this permit or any of its officers, officials, agents, consultants, representatives, and employees, whether said negligence is comparative negligence, concurrent -= negligence, gross negligence or any other form of negligence.
