HomeMy WebLinkAboutB 11.0 On the Job Injuries 2001-06-25 � , .� � ` ,� .�: iv� `, CITY OF GRAPEVINE SECTION B ADMINISTRATIVE POLICY "�""BER �'.o SUBJECT: ON THE JOB INJURIES Pa�E 1 OF 1 PRePaReo sY: RISK MANAGEMENT EFFECTIVE DATE 06-25-01 PURPOSE The purpose of this policy is to establish procedures for immediate medical care for injured workers for the most expedient recovery and return to work status. PROCEDURE A. The immediate supervisors of injured workers are to immediately transport the injured worker to minor emergency facilities if the injury is of a minor nature. Should a City of Grapevine employee receive an injury of a major nature, the ,'�~� immediate supervisor will immediately transport the injured worker to the -� emergency room at Baylor Hospital or call for an ambulance from the Fire Department through the Communications Center at the City of Grapevine. C. A supervisor will contact the Department Head and the Risk Management Division and file a written injury report to the Risk Management Division outlining the location, time, and cause of the accident. Also attached to the re�,brt will be any statements from fellow employees who observed the injury. Should the injury result in lost time by the employee, the employee wilt furnish a physician's � statement outlining the nature of the injury and days to be absent from work. The injured worker will report weekly to the supervisor on the status of his injury while recovering from related injuries. The City of Grapevine may request release of injured worker for light duty and contact the physician's office to assert what light duty injured worker is capable of based on job descriptions. The injured worker will bring physician's authorization for light duty to his or her immediate supervisor. Upon�completion of the limited duty program, the rehabilitated worker will secure release to return to full active duty and permanent work status and submit written documentation to Risk Management and the supervisor of their department. -� j I. �.
