Alpha Testing arrived on site to perform a Visual Structural Steel Inspection for the above referenced
project. Results of the inspection are as follows:
I Composite Floor Deck and Nelson Studs – Intermediate Level 2 Lines 4-2 and E.5-A Sheet S6.2:
A. Type 2VLI 20gauge decking was secured in compliance with the “Vulcraft Deck
Fastening Schedule” on sheet D1. D6 and sheet D7. The decking was fastened to the
supports with 5/8” puddle welds per detail. Side laps were button punched per detail.
Compliant.
B. Nelson studs were inspected per details on sheet ST6 “Stud Layout” with no
discrepancies found at time of inspection. Compliant.
II Composite Floor Deck and Nelson Studs – Level 1 –Lines 11.1-.03 and A-G Sheet S6.4:
A. Type 2VLI 20gauge decking was secured in compliance with the “Vulcraft Deck
Fastening Schedule” on sheet D1. D6 and sheet D7. The decking was fastened to the
supports with 5/8” puddle welds per detail. Side laps were button punched per detail.
Compliant.
B. Nelson studs were inspected per ‘Stud Layout” details with no discrepancies found at
time of inspection. Compliant.
III Angle to CMU Wall Anchors and Welded Connections- Level 1- Lines 11.1-.03 and A-G:
A. Angle has been secured into CMU Blocks wall with Hilti anchors where required and
welded connections have been inspected to AWS D1.1 with no discrepancies found at
time of inspection. Compliant.
IV Perimeter Angle Welded Splices and Welded Securement – Level 1 – Lines 11.1-03 and A-G:
A. All weldments including splices have been performed to detail with acceptable welds
to AWS D1.1. Compliant.
V Brace frame welded and A325 bolted connections – Level 1 – Lines 0.13-11.1 and B-F:
A. Welded connections were re-inspected per details 1, 2, and 3 on sheet S8.1.
Connections we welded to AWS D1.1 with no discrepancies found at time of
inspection. Compliant.
*Note: This clears item 3a from report dated August 3rd, 2018.
*Discrepancies, if any, are noted above in bold.
