The next meeting of the Grapevine Heritage Foundation will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2019,
at 5:00 pm at Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau 2nd Floor Boardroom, 636 South Main Street,
Grapevine, Texas. If you plan to attend this public meeting and you have a disability requiring
special arrangements, please contact the Office of Historic Preservation at 817-410-3185 at least
24 hours in advance. Reasonable accommodations will be made to assist your needs.
In accordance with Texas Government Code, Chapter 551.001 et seq. Acts of the 1993 Texas
Legislature, the Grapevine Heritage Foundation Board meeting agenda was prepared and posted
by the 12th day of April, 2019 at 5:00 pm.

The Grapevine Heritage Foundation (GHF) Advisory Board met at 5:00 p.m. on
Wednesday, April 17, 2019 in the Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau, 2"d Floor
Boardroom, 636 South Main Street, Grapevine, Texas 76051 for their regular scheduled
monthly meeting.

I. CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Curtis Ratliff called the meeting to order at 5 p.m. and thanked all for
attending.
II. CITIZEN COMMENTS
There were no citizen comments registered.
Any person who is not scheduled on the agenda may address the Historic Preservation
Commission under Citizen Comments by completing a Citizen Appearance Request form. In
accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, the Advisory Board is restricted in discussing or
taking action during Citizen Comments.

III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Balla Wright made the motion to accept the minutes as written from the March 20, 2019
meeting. Melva Stanfield seconded the motion, which prevailed in the following vote:
Ayes: 7 (Ratliff, Stanfield, Wright, Perkins, Franks, Hummer and Stinson)
Nays: 0 None
Absent:1 (Jensen)
IV. OLD BUSINESS
Secretary Janet Perkins reported membership at 223 active members and $8,600 in
donations.
Vice Chairman Melva Stanfield reported Nash Farm's April numbers to date were seven
group tours totaling 500 people; one parlor tour of 20; two rentals with 130 attending;
the American Girls "Sleepover" of 25 and 28 more the following day. Special event
visitation totaled 813 people and daily visitation for the first 17 days of April was 454
yielding 1,267 visitors to date with a couple of weeks to go in April.
The Spring Into Nash event was known as "Rain Into Nash" with only 110 visitors
braving the rainy day. Remaining events for the month of April are the Farm to Fork
Supper on April 26; four more school tours and one rental.
Farm Manager Cody Jolliff announced the Farm to Fork Supper is the featured
fundraiser of the year aside from sponsors and mission partners; he called on the board
members for their support and attendance saying there were tickets remaining and
board members who had not purchased tickets. He thanked all who attended the Spring
Into Nash event; updated the progress on the McPherson shed; the Amazon volunteers
would be painting the fence; and 15 new Bourbon turkey chicks would be coming to the
Farm on the following day. He said there was much preparation to be done for the
upcoming event at the Farm for the retiring Foundation Liaison, City Councilman Mike
Lease, on May 9, 2019.
Treasurer Balla Wright reported the 2019 Sponsorships had now been received, and
surpassed the set goal, to total $19,500.
Managing Director of Administration & Operations Paula Newman reported on the
Palace Arts Center (PAC) saying they had booked 32 future events for a total 8,132
people, the Rocky Gribble concert had attendance of 285. The First Friday Movie was
North by Northwest, followed by All About Eve and Out of Africa; Main Street Fest's
theme of "Back to the Future" will be supported by the trilogy of the Back to the Future I,
II and III movies shown daily during the free admission for festival attendees. She
announced she would be bringing to the next Foundation meeting the new PAC
manager, Jessica Farish, with an excellent history in the performing arts.

Farm Manager Cody Jolliff reminded all to purchase their Farm to Fork Supper tickets.
He said this year will have more true historic farm dishes raised on site at Nash Farm.
Heritage Preservation Programs Manager David Klempin presented the three 2019
Preservation Advocacy nominees to the board for their approval to recognize.
The nominees were:
Preservation Support Program, Kathrine Brink: 2007 — 19 Candlelight Tour of Homes;
Grapevine Township Project, Mike Kellerman:1939 Hugh Lee & LulaFay Higgins Home;
Preservation/Conservation, Phil Parker: 1914 Willhoite Building, 432 South Main Street.
Chairman Ratliff called for discussion; the board was in agreement of the recipients.
Pat Stinson made the motion to approve the nominees as recognized. Balla Wright
seconded the motion, which prevailed in the following vote:
Ayes: 7 (Ratliff, Stanfield, Wright, Perkins, Franks, Hummer and Stinson)
Nays: 0 None
Absent: 1 (Jensen)
Vice Chairman Melva Stanfield reported on the 2019 Candlelight Tour of Homes stating
docents would have a badge or button identifying them as they work at the properties.
The docent homeowner training is scheduled for Tuesday October 22; the homeowners
and docents Friday Night Pre-Tour will be Friday, November 1; and the public tour will
be Saturday, November 2, 2019 from 4 - 7 p.m. Cody Jolliff volunteered to make
docent identifying pins or buttons.
Paula Newman reported the Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) events
fought the rains on the same day as mentioned at Nash Farm. She said the Blessing of
the Vines Wine Trail had 450 people attending; Day Out with Thomas and several other
events were all scheduled and well attended on the same rainy day with the sun coming
out as the events were ending. The Farmer's Market will be here every Friday and
Saturday through October 12, 2019; Earth Day will be celebrated on Saturday at the
Gazebo. She said the 1903 Blevins House was not sold, April 30 was the closing date
for bids and they had about 15 inquiries and visitors for the house; the house was
advertised and promoted on social media and online newspapers. Last week, the City
closed on the sale of the Ruby Moore property at 619 Church Street, the house will be
used to display the City's Sister City artifacts becoming part of the Ted R. Ware Plaza
Museum complex. The CVB is now at work on the Main Street Festival for May 17, 18
and 19, 2019; Paula thanked the board for their support.
Chairman Ratliff asked for further discussion or a motion to adjourn. Pat Stinson said
she would like to make a statement noting the Grapevine Heritage Foundation was a
wonderful organization to be treasured and she appreciated their devotion to advocating
for the preservation of Grapevine's history and heritage.

Pat Stinson, seconded by Balla Wright, made the motion to adjourn the meeting at 6:15
p.m. The motion prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes: 7 (Ratliff, Stanfield, Wright, Perkins, Franks, Hummer and Stinson)
Nays: 0 None
Absent: 1 (Jensen)
