SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF THE PURCHASE OF A REPLACEMENT
UTILITY TRUCK.
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider the purchase of a replacement utility truck from The Thompson
Group at Classic Chevrolet in the total amount of$47,190.85.
FUNDING
Funds are available in account 100-45561-109-1 (Administrative Services 1 Risk
Management/insurance Account).....................................................$47,190.85
BACKGROUND:
Quotations were taken in accordance with City Purchasing Policy. Formal bids and
advertisements are not required for purchases under $50,000. Three vendors
submitted quotations. The Thompson Group at Classic Chevrolet was the lowest
quote received that met the required specifications. A copy of the bid tabulation
listing all pricing received is attached for review.
This purchase is for the replacement of unit 30156 used in the Water Distribution
section of the Water Department for maintenance and repairs, which was involved
in an accident on April 13th, resulting in the vehicle being totaled. The replacement
unit is a 2010 one-ton Chevrolet and includes truck chassis, service body and
crane.
Staff recommends approval of the purchase of a replacement utility truck from The
Thompson Group at Classic Chevrolet in the total amount of $47,190.85.
