Cool" program; The Ice Cream Social had 575 guests consuming 34 gallons of
homemade ice cream, 50 liters of root beer and 12 gallons of lemonade. Eight tours

finish; and City Council had met last evening and approved replacing the failing air
conditioning. Council Liaison Duff O'Dell asked how the summer movies were received,
with Director Newman saying they had been part of the SummerBlast programming with
good attendance. P.W. McCallum added this was Audrey Hepburn celebration month at
the Palace Theatre with the movie Breakfast at Tiffany's this weekend; he added each
month they have Classic Movies featuring a leading man or lady as that month's theme.
V. NEIN BUSINESS
Board Appointment for Ex officio Board Member Emeritus
CVB Executive Director P.W. McCallum shared that council Liaison Duff O'Dell
suggested to recognize the service of retiring board member Pat Stinson with the Ex
Officio as Board Member Emeritus would truly recognize the contributions of Pat's work.
He said he absolutely supported this wonderful suggestion for an Ex Officio role of
Board Member Emeritus and Pat can attend meetings as she is able, yet having the
freedom to travel, and come and go at will. There are no voting rights but her great

sense of history could continue to be shared and passed on. Liaison O'Dell agreed it
was a great way to let the younger generation catch up while the older generation could
retire and go their own way; in Pat's case she can travel but we (The Foundation) still
have her, as this is what makes Grapevine Grapevine!
Balla Wright made the motion to name Patricia Stinson as a Grapevine Heritage
Foundation Board Member Emeritus; Sue Franks and Melva Stanfield seconded the
motion, which prevailed in the following vote:
Ayes: 9 (Ratliff, Stanfield, Wright, Franks, Fray, Hummer and Nelson)
Nays: 0 None
Absent: 2 (Perkins and Jensen)
