SUBJECT: APPROVAL TO RENEW AN ANNUAL CONTRACT FOR THE
PURCHASE COLD MILLING MACHINING THROUGH AN
INTERLOCAL COOPERATIVE PURCHASING AGREEMENT
WITH T COUNTY, TEXAS
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider approval to renew an annual contract for cold milling machining
with Dustrol, Inc., through an Interlocal Cooperative Purchasing Agreement with Tarrant
County, Texas.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funds are budgeted in account 174-43301-090-000 (Street Maintenance/Capital
Replacement/Transportation Infrastructure Maintenance) in the estimated amount of
$100,000.
BACKGROUND:
Purchases will be made as required and in accordance with an Interlocal Cooperative
Purchasing Agreement with Tarrant County, Texas as allowed by the Interlocal
Cooperation Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter 791 and Texas Local Government
Code, Section 271.101 and 271.102 and satisfies all bidding requirements. A resolution
considering the initial contract for cold milling machining was approved by Council on
May 15, 2012.
Tarrant County received bids and awarded cold milling and machining contracts is
included two optional, one-year renewals to Dustrol, Inc. as primary contractor and
Tee Op Construction as a secondary contractor for Bid 2012-066 in April 2012. The City
will only contract with Dustrol, Inc. since they are the low bid for the services the City will
use.
The purpose of this contract is to establish fixed annual pricing for cold milling and
machining for City projects. If approved, this will be for the first renewal option of the two
available.

The Public or Department reviewed the contract for specification compliance and
pricing and determined that the contract would provide the best service and pricing for
meeting the needs of the City. Dustrol, Inc. has provided this service to the C4 in the
past with satisfactory results and has agreed to renew the contract with no increase in
pricing.
Staff recommends approval.
