HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 10 - Concrete Paving ITEM #10 MEMO TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL FROM: BRUNO RUMBELOW, CITY MANAGER MEETING DATE: APRIL 2, 2013 SUBJECT: APPROVAL TO CONTRACT FOR CONCRETE PAVING LABOR AND EQUIPMEMT FOR PUBLIC WORKS RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval to contract labor for concrete paving and equipment from Hunt Contracting, LL C. for the Public or Street Department. FUNDING SOURCE: Funds fortis purchase are available in account 174-43301-090 (Permanent Street Maintenance Fund) in the amount not to exceed $31,500. BACKGROUND: Quotes were taken in accordance with City Purchasing Policy. Formal bids and advertisements are not required for purchases under $50,000. Three vendors submitted quotations. Hunt Contracting, LLC $31,500.00 Outlaw Hauling and Sawing $33,320.00 Manning Concrete $52,080-00 The costs associated with this purchase is for the labor to install r reinforcing steel, placement and finishing of approximately 14,000 square feet of concrete paving for the reconstruction of Baylor Parkway from the DART right-of-way to Lancaster Drive. Of the three quotes received, Hunt Contracting, LLC. submitted the lowest quote meeting specifications. Staff recommends approval. DP/BS 3/2712013 (4:39:05 PM)
