SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR A ONE-TIME PURCHASE OF CONCRETE
MATERIAL FOR ROAD WORK on BAYLOR PARKWAY
RECOMMENDATION:
it Council to consider approving a one-time purchase of concrete from Charley's
Concrete for use by the Public Works Street Department.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funds for this purchase are available in account 174-43301-090 (Permanent Street
Maintenance Fund) in the amount not to exceed $49,225.00.
BACKGROUND:
Quotes were taken in accordance with City Purchasing Policy. Formal bids and
advertisements are not required for purchases under $50,000. Three vendors submitted
quotations.
Charley's Concrete $49,225.00
Southern Star Concrete, Inc. $54,725.00
LMC $55,000.00
This purchase is for ready-mixed concrete for the reconstruction of Baylor Parkway from
the DART Railroad to Lancaster Drive.
Of the three quotes received, Charley's Concrete submitted the lowest quote meeting
specifications.
