ITEM 1 - Summary of Golf Course Operations 4th Ouarter and discussion !Russell Pulley) Russell reported on the 4th qtr. operations of 2019 vs. 2018. Russell reported that the 4' quarter was very good compared to 2018. Rounds were up considerably, as well as overall operations revenue for the quarter. Green fees were up as well as cart fees and driving range. Merchandise sales was the only category that was only slightly down vs 2018. Russell reported that weather was the big reason for the increases. Russell also reported that October was looking very strong. Tom Kormondy commented that a citizen had ask if residents received a discount and that he had not been asked when he checked in to play. Bryan Humphreys suggested posting on the board or some form of signage showing Grapevine Residents receive a 20% discount off of green fee with proper ID. ITEM 2- Clubhouse Project Update (Russell Pulley) Russell reported that not much has changed with the project since the last Advisory Board meeting. He reported that a 46 page report was being sent to the Corps of Engineers addressing their concerns. Russell reported that due to the large expense associated with the gas line installation, impacting the project, it would no longer be an option of consideration. The water line project being separate from the clubhouse project will continue and will be needed for fire protection for the new Clubhouse. The project will not need to be completed before the clubhouse project can begin. Temporary fire protection needs are in place to deal with any issues that might be needed. The expected timeline is early to mid- spring (April May) for the project to start. ITEM 3 — Previous years Club Champion Plaques on first tee boxes (Gary Davis) Gary Davis brought up the discussion of having some sort of recognition for previous club Champions on the number one tees of each of the nines. Discussion of possibly using plaques to recognize such champions by flight and gender. Russell and Robert said that they would look into some possible options. ITEM 4 — Instruction Program update (Jr. Golf Academy, PGA Jr League, Get Golf Ready) (Robert Singletary) Jr. Academy — Academy has started back up for fall with 8 juniors practicing 2 days per week. GGR — Level I classes started up again in September (no classes in July & August) with good participation and GGR 2 is also full. These classes are led by Eric Hunt. PGA Jr League concluded their season in July finishing I" in their league and placing 4 players on All Star Team coached by Robert Singletary & Eric Hunt. The All Star team finished 71, out of 20 teams in Regional Competition in August. Golf Station Fitting and Instruction — our partnership with Tim Brantley and The Golf Station continues to develop as we conducted several Fitting experience weekends in last quarter. This provides a quality fitting experience to our customers as well as attracting new golfers to our facility. ITEM 5 — Golf Course Maintenance (Trav Poskev) Tray reported that the summer has been wetter than normal meaning having to water less. Tray also reported that the crew was getting their fall programs in place of trimming trees and overgrown areas. The rockwork around the new tee signs is continuing as time allows around normal maintenance schedules. Tray reported that sand had been ordered to address those bunkers that needed additional sand. Tray reported that the overseeding of the practice tee and target greens had been done with the tees to follow. Tom Kormondy asked about the benches that had been previously discussed for the golf course brought up before by Robert Blalock. Russell reported that he was checking with the Parks and Rec department about the type benches that they use in the parks for consideration if funds were available. Bryan Humphreys asked about the timing on the range lights and Robert Singletary reported that the timers coincide with the daylight hours and the seasonal time change, as well as weather. They currently move with sunset hours.
