o Historic Downtown Grapevine Association (HDGA) for the Torian Cabin at
Liberty Park at the corner of Wall Street and Jenkins Street
o Texas Toyota of Grapevine for Hanover Drive from Main Street to Minters
Chapel Road
o Preston Family for Perch Lane and .5 miles south along Meadowmere Park
shoreline and roadway
o Neill Family for Big Bear Creek from Old Mill Run to Pool Road
• Consider approval of the following new adopt -an -area agreements:
o Navy Recruiting Station Keller for Katie's Woods Park from the high water
boat ramp to the west end of park proper
o Shimmick Family for Service Road 360 south from the southern entrance of

The City of Grapevine Parks & Recreation Advisory Board met October 17, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. in the
Administration Conference Room at The REC of Grapevine, 1175 Municipal Way, Grapevine, Texas
with the following members present, to -wit:

Christian Ross called the meeting to order at 6:03 p.m.

Presentation:
• Club All -Access Program
o Trent Kelley, Recreation Manager, introduced Nadia Gentry, Recreation Coordinator for
the Adaptive Needs Program, Club All -Access. Nadia shared a photo of the group (7
current participants) and the day-to-day lesson plans and activities they participate in.
The program started in the fall of this year (2019) and was designed in an effort to create
more adaptive needs programming and provide inclusion to all in our community. Nadia
answered several questions from Board members.
PARD Information Items:
Updates were given from Kevin Mitchell & Chris Smith over the following divisions:

• Athletics — A current construction status drone video was played for Oak Grove Softball
Complex. Plumbing and flooring to be done, fibar needs to be installed at the playground and
our staff has been maintaining the fields.
• Capital Projects — Dallas Road Corridor item updates included the landscaping, the trail on
north and south side of Dallas Road and the pedestrian lights. Phase 6 of the green ribbon
landscape enhancements on Highway 26 was approved by City Council on October 15.
• Events — All at the Botanical Garden: Sunset Live on October 3-5, Butterfly Flutterby on
October 19 & the Halloween Bash on October 26
• Park Maintenance — Parkwood Park community input meeting (Park Board) from last month,
September 19. Kevin Mitchell gave an update on the status of the Bark Park at Bear Creek
Park and the upcoming grand opening date of Saturday, November 2. Staff is working
diligently on all of the paddocks, parking lot, landscaping, and Max the dog sculpture and other
park amenities. TRA will come back in January to extend the sewer line all the way through
Parr Park.
• Recreation — Aquatics Haunted Space Quest swimming event on October 18 at The REC
Aquatic Center
• Volunteerism — Fall Sweep (biggest volunteer cleanup event of the year) on October 26 and
Happy to Help wrap-up from the spring/summer months
• 6 Stones — Kevin Mitchell gave an update over the 6 Stones house rehabilitation program.
Miscellaneous Board Items:
• GCISD Report — Doug Noelle reported on the Gold Card Program for seniors 65 years+. This
gets them into any game, program, etc for free in GCISD. Walk of fame inducties and the band
and drill team competition.
• GHS Report— None given.
