SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR THE AWARD OF REQUEST FOR QUOTE
382-2012 FOR A FLOATING FISHING PIER FOR THE PARKS
AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider approval of the award of request for quote 382-2012 for a
floating fishing pier, materials only, for the Parks and Recreation Department.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funds for the purchase of the fishing pier are available in account 121-48850-312-12-
000017 (Council Quality of Life Fund/ Fishing Pier/ Parks and Recreation 2012 Projects)
in the amount of$25,039.00.
BACKGROUND:
The fishing pier for Lake Grapevine was one of the Quality of Life projects approved by
the Council at the March 6, 2012 meeting. The fishing pier will be located near the
Scott's Landing Boat Ramp at the south end of Farris Branch Drive after receiving some
feedback from citizens on the location of the fishing pier. The fishing pier will be a
floating pier so it could be moved to another location if necessary, at some time in the
future.
Quotes were taken in accordance with the City's Purchasing Policy utilizing the E-Bid
system. There were 17 vendors invited to quote; 22 vendors viewed the quote package;
three quotes were submitted with one no-quote. (See attached quote tabulation).
Of the four quotes received, EZ Dock of Texas, L.P. was the overall lowest responsive
and responsible bidder meeting specifications.
Staff recommends approval.
