Replace the existing 10' long section of wood privacy fence on the east side of the house with a new iron fence to match the appearance of the existing driveway gate on the west side of the house; as per the attached drawing and photos with the condition a permit is obtained from the building department. An approved Certificate of Appropriateness is not an approved building permit; a building permit is / is not required. Worth St. Francisco House, 1955 The 1955 Francisco House is part of the prestigious D. E. Box Addition developed by Grapevine banker, D. E. Box. The addition contained 64 properties constructed between 1948 and 1962. The D. E. Box Addition was the City's first planned residential development and first expansion to the east of the historic Grapevine Township platted in 1907. Homes in the addition are one-story structures built in the ranch -style popular after World War il. The platted lots of the addition are 10,000 square feet or larger. The 1955 Francisco House is a ranch style brick house with gable roof and exposed rafter tails. Decorative scalloped vertical siding fills the gable ends. Ornamental wrought iron railings and roof trim accent the front entry way. Later, a new covered patio connecting to a two - car garage were added to the rear of the original house. John and Dorothy Beth (Bess) Maxwell Francisco were "salt -of -the -earth" Grapevine citizens who were beloved by the community. Dorothy Bess was known for her love of Grapevine and its history. For many years she was secretary for the Fort Worth Public Schools. Dorothy Bess married John Francisco and together they had their own ice cream business in Fort Worth. When they moved to Grapevine, John was employed by Willhoite's Garage. Dorothy Bess worked for Texas Power and Light and American Bank of Commerce in Grapevine. She was known as a "public relationist." Dorothy Bess was a Lucas family descendant and loved serving and helping families at the Lucas Funeral Home. John was the first docent of the Grapevine Historical Museum when it opened in 1974. C A i q -//! To refresh, we will be doing the following in the near future: Tear out and re -pour broken concrete driveway. No changes, just new concrete from the sidewalk to the blacktop in back. Small garden shed in back, roughly 10 feet by 6 feet. Replace 10 feet of wood fence with an iron fence. The fence faces the road, but we want to match the driveway gate or find antique fencing. Attached you will find a Certificate of Appropriateness (I am hopeful it is filled out to your expectations. It is our first time working with your Department) for these items as well as pictures of what we will be working on. I will explain each attachment. • Item one is the Certificate of Appropriateness. • Item 2 is a picture of the driveway. • Item 3 is a closeup view of the driveway damage. • Item 4 is our survey, with a highlighted location of the garden shed. 3 feet off the back and 3 feet off the side property lines. • Item 5 is a picture of a similar shed we will construct. • Item 6 is a picture of the East side of our house, showing the wood fencing. • Item 7 is a picture of our gate.
