MEMO TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL
FROM: BRUNO RUMBELOW, CITY MANAGER
MEETING DATE: APRIL 3, 2012
SUBJECT: CAC FEASIBILITY STUDY
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The expansion and renovation of the Community Activities Center (CAC)was one of the
highest priorities to citizens in the Parks & Recreation Master Plan that was approved by
the Council in May of 2011. The expansion of the weight and fitness room, indoor aquatics
and additional multi-purpose rooms were specifically noted by those surveyed and those
participating in focus group. Also, developing the CAC as a multi-generational facility was
recommended in the master plan and is supported by seniors at the Senior Activities
Center.
As a part of the CAC Feasibility Study, five focus groups met on Thursday, March 29th and
Monday,April 2"d to give specific input on the expansion and renovation of the CAC. Leon
Younger from Pros Consulting will go over the input received from citizens participating in
the focus groups and discuss priorities the Council has for the expansion and renovation.
Please see the attached list of questions that Mr. Younger will be asking the Council for
feedback on.
