This letter confirms on January 16, 2020 the Historic Preservation Staff approved with
conditions #CA20-03 for the property addressed 710 East Wall Street, legally described
as Block 101, Lot 10, College Heights Addition, City of Grapevine, to the Grapevine Historic
Preservation Ordinance 91-73 (Appendix G — Grapevine Code of Ordinances), as amended,
for the following:
1. Remove existing roof shingles and replace using CertainTeed, Saint-Gobain's
Presidential Shake roof shingles in "Weathered Wood" color;
2. Remove and reinstall existing flashing on front and rear gable ends of the
house; retain original wood siding and remove only where necessary and
replace with matching siding; remove improperly installed James Hardie siding
soffit on roof edge of new addition and replace with wood siding to match
original house siding;
3. Install circular wood vent grill with 4" wide wood trim in the front and rear gable
ends of the house to provide cross ventilation of house attic;
as per the attached specifications and photo with the condition a permit is obtained from
the building department.
An approved Certificate of Appropriateness is not an approved building permit; a
building permit is / is not required. Contact the City of Grapevine's Building
Department at 817.410.3165 for fees and information regarding permits.

PRODUCT INFORMATION
Presidential Shake TL, with its sculpted rustic edges, is
constructed using three laminated layers of the industry's strongest,
most durable materials, making it one of the thickest, toughest and
best looking shingles on the market. It has the beauty of a wood
shake with less cost and better performance. It is designed to resist "{
blow off in high wind conditions up to 110-mph with normal
installation and 130-mph with special installation.
Presidential Shake, with its unique sculptured tab, provides the distinct styling, depth and dimension of
wood shakes. It is constructed using two laminated layers of the industry's strongest, most durable
roofing materials. It is designed to resist blow off in high wind conditions up to 110-mph with normal
installation and 130-mph with special installation.
Presidential Shake TL AR (Algae Resistant) and Presidential Shake AR (Algae Resistant) shingles
help protect against staining or discoloration caused by algae.
Colors: Please refer to the product brochure or CertainTeed website for the colors available in your
region.
