Citizen Comments Any person who is not scheduled on the agenda may address the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board under Citizen Comments or on any other agenda item by completing a Citizen Appearance Request form with the staff. A member of the public may address the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board regarding an item on the agenda either before or during the Board's consideration of the item, upon being recognized by the Chairman or upon the consent of the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board In accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board is restricted in discussing or taking action during Citizen Comments. New Business Consider approval of the following renewal adopt -an -area agreements: o Ambleside for North Kimball Avenue from Meadowmere Lane to Dove Road o Bikram Yoga North Texas for North Main Street from Northwest Highway to Dove Loop Road o Hall's Pumpkin Farm for the north side of Hall Johnson Road from WT Parr Road to Pool Road o IronTex Triathlon for Lakeview Park area from Lakeview Boat Ramp North to Slough Drive o The Smith Family for Wildwood Lane from Ruth Wall Road to Dooley Street Consider approval of the following new adopt -an -area agreement: o LEGOLAND Discovery Center/SEA LIFE Aquarium for Mills Run Trail from West Grapevine Mills Circle to FM 2499 6. Kevin Mitchell, Director Chris Smith, Deputy Director Cindy Harris, Volunteer Services Liaison Christian Ross called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Arov, l of Winutes A motion was made to approve the November 21, 2019 meeting minutes. Motion: Assaad Second: Luccioni Ayes: Ross, Harris, Luccioni, Gibson, Musar, Assaad, Nichols and Buhr Nays: None Absent: Robertson Approved: 8-0 Citizen Comments No one spoke during citizen comments. The presentation covered the Parks & Rec Department's mission statement, vision, core values, inventory of parks, grant funding, community events, awards, The REC, The Vineyards Campground & Cabins, Lake Parks, Keep Grapevine Beautiful, and valued partnerships with local businesses and organizations. PARD Information Items: Updates were given from Kevin Mitchell: • Capital Projects — Construction of the 4thpaddock at the Bark Park at Bear Creek Park • Lake Parks — Beach volleyball courts at Oak Grove Park Events — Daddy Daughter Dance on January 24 & 25, theme is Disney's Frozen. Added a 4 th dance this year to accommodate more attendees. Park Maintenance — Staff is finishing the teardown of Christmas de'cor/lights, constructing the new pavilion and bowl area at the Botanical Gardens, finishing the pickleball courts at Dove Park and the installing the new playground at Parkwood Park. Recreation/Athletics — GBS Coaches Look, GBS and flag football registration numbers are up from last year. Miscellaneous Board Items: • GCISD Report — Doug Noelle reported on band members going to state, and the 2020-2021 school calendar approval. • GHS Report — Lina Grace Assaad reported on basketball, soccer, tennis, and the Interact Club volunteering, as well as a wrestling tournament and the girls' soccer tournament.
