This letter confirms on April 16, 2020 the Historic Preservation Commission staff approved
with conditions #CA20-29 for the property addressed 238 Austin Street, legally described as
Block 104, Lot 7-8 S 'h Lot, College Heights Addition, City of Grapevine Texas. The following
was approved on this Certificate of Appropriateness:
1. Extend the existing paving of driveway using colored stamped concrete in "brick
red" color;
2. Install a new 6' high wrought iron fence between the house and the detached
garage with gate;
3. Install a new 3' high wrought iron fence in the front and side yard of the house
with a 3' high x 3' wide wrought iron gate at the sidewalk to the house;
4. Construct a new freestanding steel frame pergola with wood lattice roof, in the
back yard of the house between the house and the detached garage;
as per the attached plans, details and photos with the condition a permit is obtained
from the Building Department.
An approved Certificate of Appropriateness is not an approved building permit; a
building permit "is / is not required. Contact the City of Grapevine's Building
Department at 817.410.3165 for fees and information regarding permits.
