SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR THE PURCHASE OF COMMANDER CONTROL
CABINETS WITH SOFTWARE
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the purchase of commander control
cabinets with software from Trafficware for the Public Works Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the Capital Project Fund (177) for an amount not to
exceed $16,000.
BACKGROUND: This purchase is for traffic signal controllers at Main Street at Wall Street,
Texas Street, East Franklin Street and Hudgins Street.
This purchase will be made in accordance with an existing interlocal
agreement with The Local Government Purchasing Cooperative
(BuyBoard) as allowed by Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 271
and Texas Government Code, Chapter 791.
Bids were taken by the Cooperative and a contract was awarded to
Trafficware. The Public Works and Purchasing staff reviewed the contract
for departmental specification compliance and pricing and determined that
the contract would best meet the needs of the City.
Staff recommends approval
