CITY OF GRAPEVINE
The City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas met in Special
Session on this the 17th day of August, 1989 at 6 :30 p.m. in Chenin #
Blanc I and II of the Grapevine Convention Center, 1209 South Main
Street, with the following members present to-wit:

CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Pro Tem Ware called the meeting to order at 6: 50 p.m.

, Council Member Pittman delivered the Invocation.

ITEM 1 . WORKSHOP, PROPOSED 1989-90 BUDGET �
;
�.
The FY89 budget workshop continued with review of the proposed
association/memberships for all City employees. Discussion ensued "
�
relative to association membership, with the consensus being that
the City would pay professional dues and club memberships would be
1 consolidated. Discussion continued relative to the proposed car
i allowances for Department Heads, with the consensus of the City
� Council that the Mayor receive $500 . 00 car allowance per month.
� ;
A review of the General Fund departmental requests continued with
the Police Department, Fire Department, Parks & Recreation,
Library, Public Works, and Community Development.
Interim Police Chief Grady Lewis reviewed the staffing goals of the `�
�' Police Department and reported no additional personnel would be r
required in FY90; there are currently 39 officers in uniform. �
During discussion of the Parks & Recreation Department, it was the
consensus of the Council to include field lights for Oak Grove �
. Soccer Fields No. 2 and No. 3 .
, Mayor Pro Tem Ware announced the budget workshop would be continued
on Tuesday, August 22 , 1989 at 8 : 00 p.m.
ADJOURNMENT
Council Member Pittman made a motion to adjourn the meeting at
9 : 50 p.m. Seconded by Council Member Wickman, the motion prevailed
by the following vote:

Nays . None
Absent: Tate
