Merchant Comments
• We improved our margin by 3% over last year and we reduced the year end
inventory by 30%, which was significant. The three days after Thanksgiving
(Fri,Sat,Sun) were the best three days the store ever had, including festivals.
• Dec sales were up by 20% from last Dec. The weekends were insane. It felt like
mini festivals. Grapevine is definitely the Christmas Capital.
• Overall very happy - noticed more foot traffic
• December sales were up 40% and this was the first Christmas season we ended
with not much inventory left over.
• Big traffic month - would like to start earlier in 2010
• I think the city did a good job. There was an obvious increase in the amount of
foot traffic during the holidays. Can you light the tree earlier.
• Christmas Capital of Texas is working. Can we change lighting ceremony to
before Thanksgiving and can we work on decorating on days other than
Saturdays.
• Programming was amazing, created more foot traffic.
• First two weeks of December weak, felt like Phase II open of Southlake hurt us.
